Barcelona have reportedly agreed to hire former AC Milan sporting director, Ariedo Braida as the club’s new international sporting director, to try and rebuild the the dominant AC Milan club from the 80’s and 90’s at the Camp Nou.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu is interested in rebuilding the club and will have Braida fill the new position of international sporting director, a position that was created by club advisor Carles Rexach, vice president Jordi Mestre and Javier Borda.

The 69-year-old was responsible for some of the top signings in world football history like Van Basten, Rijkaard and Thiago Silva during nearly 20-year tenure at AC Milan from 1986 until 2013.

Braida then spent a brief spell with Sampdoria but left the club when it changed owners and has been out of a job since then.

Braida will take over for Andoni Zubizarreta until the end of the season, when the club will then name a proper replacement.
