Google decided not to allow participants from Russia, Belarus, LPR and DPR to the programming contest

Google has been hosting the annual Google Summer of Code (GSoC) programming competition for over 15 years, since 2005. In 2022, participants from Russia and Belarus will not be allowed to attend. This is reported on the GSoC website.

In addition, residents of the LPR and DPR will also not be able to take part in the competition. Residents of Ukraine outside the LPR and DPR can participate in the competition.

Both ordinary participants and mentors or administrators from these regions will not be allowed to participate in the competition “due to current circumstances.”

At GSoC, the company conducts a selection of open source projects, and students participate in it. Winners receive cash grants.
