US President Joe Biden has asked Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to increase defense spending and, in particular, help modernize the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), writes The Wall Street Journal.
The publication reports, citing an unnamed official, that a discussion of the issue between the leaders of both countries took place earlier this week. “The United States and Canada are planning to modernize the network of military satellites and radars in the Arctic to counter the growing military presence there of Russia and China,” the newspaper writes.
