At the moment, the bomb consists of the oldest components that exist in the U.S. Arsenal. It is noted that after the upgrade it will last at least another 20 years.

Recall the first test of the B61-12 on 1 July 2015. The B61 is composed of four different versions (B61-3, -4, -7 and -10). To replace all of them in the framework of the modernization of the bomb will appear one B61-12.
