Alissa, an eight-year-old girl from Vernal, Utah became an amputee eleven months ago when a truck ran over her foot and severed it. She had her right leg amputated below the knee.

In this clip she gave her first performance after the accident. She decided with her mother that Colbie Caillat’s hit Try would accurately reflect her emotional journey over the past year.

‘I just didn’t want to give up,’ Alissa said. ‘Dancing has been my favorite thing since I was four. I don’t have part of my leg, but I can’t let that stop me. I still want to dance.’
