The RA Parliament is debating with its first reading the package of projects to make amendments to the “Law on Personal Data Protection”, which was presented by the government. The deputy chief of the RA Justice Minister Arsen Mkrtchyan said that the protection of the right to confidentiality concerning his/her personal and family life will be insured in case of adoption of these projects.

The member of the NA ANC faction Levon Zurabyan expressed his view concerning the draft law speaking about interceptions and personal data collection of opposition members by the special services. “If the finances and efforts were spent on the enemy rather than the interception of the members of opposition, the condition along the border would be different now. It is not necessary to go too far for bringing examples of illegal interceptions: you can just consider the private conversation between me and Vardan Oskanyan. The conversation, which was posted on the Internet, was edited in a way that it clearly revealed the purpose of government’s propaganda”,- said the parliamentarian.
