sil and al-Qaeda jihadists are using pornographic images to hide secret messages sent to their followers on social networking websites, a new book claims.

Messages have been found in "X-rated pornographic pictures which conceal documents and orders for the next target," according to Gordon Thomas in his new book on Mossad's cybercrime unit.

Al-Qaeda has previously transmitted messages to followers through the online marketplace eBay, encrypting them in goods it offered for sale, according to the book 'Gideon's Spies: The Secret History of the Mossad'.

Several Mossad operatives have reportedly been assigned to monitor the social networking site Reddit, where messages can be buried inside a maze of niche web pages.

It had long been suspected that al-Qaeda uses used steganography, the art of concealing information in plain sight, to transmit messages.

This can including manipulating the composition of pixels or the waveform of an audio file in order to insert data.

MI6 and Mossad have recruited linguists speaking Arabic, Urdu and Pashto to translate online magazines that both Isil and al-Qaeda publish with instructions for jihadists.

Last month, Isil used their English-language magazine Dabiq to foreshadow the brutal executions of 21 Christians on a Libyan beach.

The publication included images of the men in the group's distinctive orange jumpsuits, days before the full video of their murder was released.
