Cristiano Ronaldo apologies for red card and says he's 'living a complicated personal situation'

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly apologised to his Real Madrid team-mates for his behaviour in last week's La Liga clash with Cordoba.

The Portugese star was sent off for throwing a punch and kick at opposition defender Edimar, striking him in the face before being banned for two games by the Spanish FA.

Spanish TV station Cuatro claim that Ronaldo gathered his team-mates together at a training session and promised that there won't be a repeat of his bad behaviour and explained that he is "passing through a complicated personal situation".

Ronaldo's love life has been in the public eye for the past few weeks after his five-year relationship with Russian model Irina Shayk came to an end, just days after the 29 year old won the third Ballon d'Or of his career.

He'll miss Real Madrid's next two matches against Real Sociedad and Sevilla, returning to domestic action against Atletico Madrid at the beginning of February.
