Luxembourg mourns Oumar Sylla

Oumar Sylla, the F91 Dudelange midfielder who featured in UEFA Champions League qualifying earlier this season, died at the age of 26 following a battle with liver cancer.
F91 Dudelange are in mourning after Oumar Sylla died at the age of 26 following a battle with liver cancer.

The Senegalese midfielder arrived in Luxembourg in summer 2013 and helped Dudelange regain the title in his first season. He was involved at the beginning of this season, too, starting both legs of the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round defeat against PFC Ludogorets Razgrad. It was in Bulgaria that Sylla first spoke to coaching staff about losing weight. Cancer was diagnosed and he underwent treatment in Paris and Nancy but passed away this morning.
