Danielle Guenther photos capture the reality of parenting
New York photographer Danielle Guenther has a gift for capturing parenting in all its glory. A mom herself, Guenther explains on her website that she "strives to allow every moment to reveal itself through the lens in an authentic or comedic way. After all, should we really take parenting so seriously?"

And it's evident Guenther doesn't take her roles as a mom or a lifestyle photographer too seriously. In her 11-image series entitled "Best Case Scenario," she shows us what parenting actually looks like in real life -- not like the carefully edited photos we see on Facebook or Instagram."I have a regular client that I photograph, and I was over at her house," Guenther explains in an interview with PopSugar on how the series began. "It was at the end of the session, and the mom, [who] is always a total blast, just laid down on the couch, and I [said] we should do a funny one. She has a wonderful sense of humor, [and] she was all about it! And then it just spiraled out of control in a really great way."

That photo is entitled "Exhausted," which started it all. "This is real, this is life, this is parenting. Parenting is so ugly, but there are moments that are so beautiful," she says.

The whole series fits in perfectly with her general philosophy about her work. "It's so important to capture families in their everyday life, because after starting a family, your life seems to pick up speed forever," Guenther writes on her site. "Capture the moment, because in the end, all we have are the memories."

This is definitely an ongoing project. "My series is progressing and I'm having a blast working [with] all of these fun families! I have many more ideas up my sleeve," says Guenther.
