Former Yerevan Mayor is still unemployed
''Haykakan Zhamanak''. The paper claims it has learned that former Yerevan Mayor Karen Karapetyan who resigned on October 28, saying he is offered a new job in Russia’s gas monopoly Gazprom, was unemployed as of Friday.

Following his resignation the Russian media reported that Karapetyan will be appointed as board chairman and vice president in Gazprom.

As of Friday, the paper continues, there was no information about Karapetyan’s new appointment on Gazprom’s website, while the company would not respond to any phone call.

The paper, citing “well-informed sources,” says Karapetyan’s appointment has not taken place yet, adding that he will not be appointed as vice president in Gazprom.

It also says that all this time there were opinions that Karapetyan will not get any position in Gazprom at all, though his relatives insist otherwise.
