Authorities of Catalonia announced final results of referendum on independence

The authorities of Catalonia announced the final results of the referendum on the independence of the autonomy from Madrid, which took place on October 1, contrary to the decision of the Constitutional Court of Spain on its illegality. For separation from Spain, 90.18% of voters voted.
For independence, 90.18% (2 million 44 thousand 38 people) spoke out, against 7.83% (177.547 people). Empty bulletins sent to the ballot 1,98% - 44 thousand 913 people.
The head of the Generalitat of Catalonia Carles Puigdemont announced on October 4 before the announcement of the results of the referendum that the independence of the region will be announced in a few days. In turn, the central authorities in Madrid rejected the possibility of negotiating the separation of autonomy. Then the Constitutional Court of Spain canceled the meeting of the Parliament of Catalonia, at which the deputies planned to declare independence, noting that any attempts to hold the session would be considered illegal.
