'Hostage situation' at Dutch radio station as 'man forces way into building' one day after popular DJ quit

An armed man held a woman hostage at a Dutch radio station this morning.

The man is reported to have threatened an 3FM employee with a knife in a car park and forced her to take him inside the building.

The man was arrested and the incident resolved peacefully, local media reported.The incident followed the departure of one of the radio station's most popular disk jockeys on Wednesday.

Police are reported to have found a knife and a bag in the street about fifty yards from 3FM, in Hilversum, the Netherlands.

3FM is a Dutch pop and rock radio station controlled by the public broadcaster NPO.
