Conan O'Brien Talks Filming in Armenia, Being "Afraid" of "Crazy" Donald Trump, Who "Will Not Be President"

Conan O'Brien recently announced he would be filming an episode of his TBS late-night show in Armenia, and the comedian is already in the country doing so.

O'Brien took a break from working on his own show to appear on Armenia's top comedy TV show,ArmComedy, where he discussed what brought him to the country, how Armenian he is and U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump, whose campaign has apparently caught the attention of people in Armenia as well.

"He's crazy," O'Brien said of Trump. "We are as afraid as you are, we are all equally afraid. But he will not be president, no."

O'Brien, who is the first American late-night host ever to do a show from Armenia, was also humorously tested on how Armenian he is, answering questions such as whether he prefers a floor with or without a carpet or if he would give way to another driver with a smile or scowl. O'Brien also joked about "how beautiful Armenian women are and how very angry Armenian men are."

Playing along with ArmComedy hosts Sergey Sargsyan and Narek Margaryan, O'Brien happily signs a release form giving them permission to "start a rumor" that he has Armenian roots.

In another interview, the U.S. television host said he found plenty of humorous material while in Yerevan, where he's filming his show, such as the presence of Kentucky Fried Chicken, the American food chain known by its initials KFC, in Armenia.

"When you get to a place like Armenia you're so excited to be on the other side of the world, away from all Western influences, all the stuff that we think may be not the best thing for the world, and then you see a KFC and you think: 'Oh my God, why? Why did they let KFC here?'" O'Brien toldRadio Free Europe.

O'Brien says he was inspired to film in Yerevan by his Armenian production assistant, Sona Movsesian, who like him had never before been to the country.
