How to drink and NEVER get drunk: The simple trick that stops alcohol affecting you

We have all been out for a few drinks and then regretted having one too many and making a fool of ourselves.

But now, a brewer has revealed a trick which could put an end to drunken fights and alcohol-fuelled embarrassments.

The co-founder of the Boston Beer Company, Jim Koch, says he has a trick which allows people to drink all night without getting drunk.

Mr Koch says yeast is the key to staying sober while drinking.

In an interview with Esquire he revealed that he swallows dry yeast before he drinks and that this stops him getting drunk.

He says the trick is to take one teaspoon of yeast per drink before starting drinking.

He added that you can make it more palatable by stirring it into yoghurt.

And, he also explained that it can easily be purchased in grocery stores.

Mr Koch says active dry yeast contains an enzyme called alcohol dehydrogenases which breaks down alcohol.

He says it transforms the alcohol molecules into carbon, hydrogen and oxygen - this is also what happens when the liver breaks down alcohol.

As a result, swallowing yeast before drinking means alcohol is broken down before it reaches the brain and causes drunkenness.

However, Mr Koch warns that it does not completely eliminate the effects of alcohol – it just reduces them.
