He could add to his six Olympic gold medals in Rio de Janeiro next year but Usain Bolt is still keen to play for Manchester United.

The fastest man in the world is expected to bring the curtain down on a phenomenal athletics career at the 2016 Olympics, which would leave him in need of a fresh challenge.

Bolt has previously visited United's Carrington training ground and showed off his winning pedigree in front of the Old Trafford faithful in 2012, when he wore his three London 2012 gold medals.

Convinced he could do a job for Louis van Gaal, Bolt told MUTV: “In my mind I think I should do a trial and see if they would say ‘Alright, come on in’ or if they would say ‘No, you are not any good’. I think I would be pretty good because I am fit, I am quick, I can control the ball and I understand all of the play.
