In other themed restaurant news, there’s a Hello Kitty eatery coming to Hong Kong in June, aptly named Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine. From kitty-shaped dim sum and branded bubbly (pink, of course) to rice mounds perfectly formed into dainty, cat-like faces and lampshades printed with the iconic feline, there’s absolutely no escaping the fictional character once you step inside.

Hello Kitty-inspired eats are by no means a new thing—search the name on Pinterest and you’ll find entire party motifs revolving around the character—but Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine takes it to a new level of detail that even the most dedicated of chefs can appreciate. Each one of the 37 dishes and every piece of décor had to be approved by Sanrio, the company behind the Hello Kitty brand. Some plates went through as many as seven rounds of taste and visual tests before making the menu.
