One Simple Shoe Could Help Millions Of Poor Kids Across The World

A few years ago, an Idaho man named Kenton Lee was living and working in Nairobi, Kenya. One day, on his way to church, he saw a little girl wearing shoes that were few sizes too small for her feet. The sight, although easily imaginable and probably quite frequent for the people living in that region, led Lee to an ingenious idea: “The Shoe That Grows.”

Together with some like minded people, Lee created simple yet creative sandals that can adjust to five sizes and can last for at least five years. It can be tremendously helpful for poor children who grow out of their size every few months and end up barefoot, unable to buy a new pair.

“The shoe is made with simple materials – leather, compressed rubber and snaps,” reads the website.

Undoubtedly, this is one of the most brilliant and affordable ideas that anyone has come up with in quite some time. These sandals are easy to use and easy to clean along with being potentially unbreakable.

The shoes are available in two sizes – small and large – with each pair costing up to $30.
