MMA community in shock; fighter Josh Samman in coma

According to UFC bloggers, media sources and friends, Samman, 28, remains in critical condition Saturday morning. Samman’s roommate and friend Troy Kirkingburg, a 28-year-old who attended Florida State and was an MMA announcer for local Florida promotions, was pronounced dead on arrival. Details are few at this time, but the Democrat has requested an incident report from the local police department.

According to MMA Fighting, a spokesperson for the UFC said the promotion company is aware of Samman's hospitalization and has been in touch with his management team.
