In New York a Van Gogh Put up for Auction for $50 Million

Painting of Vincent van Gogh’s “Plowed field and ploughman” (“Laboureur dans un champ”) will be offered for auction in new York with an estimated value over 50 million dollars, told RIA Novosti in the auction house Christie’s.Painting by the Dutch artist will be the main lot at the auction of works of impressionist and modern art from the collection of Nancy Lee and Perry bass on 13 November. Christie’s presents the collection includes 36 works of the specified period, and post-war art, the total estimated cost of which exceeds $ 120 million, the report says.
     Painting the “Plowed field the Plowman” was written by van Gogh in August-September 1889. On the canvas captures the view from the window of the room of the artist in the guest house-the asylum of St. Paul in the South of France, where he lived from may 1889 to may 1890.
     Also at the auction exhibited painting by Henri Matisse “Regatta in nice” in 1921, with an estimated cost of 12-18 million dollars. Abstraction of Joan Miro 1933 put up for auction with a minimum value of $ 18 million. The collection also includes paintings by Marc Chagall 1929 and 1970 with an estimate 4-6 million dollars, the report States.
