Number of killed in terrorist attack in southern Iraq increased to 74

As a result of the triple terrorist attack that was organized by militants of the Islamic State terrorist group, the death toll increased to 74 people in the city of Nasiriyah in the southern Iraqi province of Di Kare. More than 100 were injured.

The suicide bombers of ISIS attacked a checkpoint and a restaurant in Nasiriyah. At first, the terrorists blew up the cars, after which a group of their accomplices opened fire around them from automatic weapons.

The US State Department already strictly condemns the act of terrorism, expressed support for the families of the deceased and wished the wounded a speedy recovery.

"We condemn in the strongest terms the barbarous terrorist attacks committed in Nasiriyah," State Department spokesman Heather Nauert said after the start of today's briefing and called for a comprehensive fight against the terrorists ISIS.
