A New York girl who made it out of her family’s burning home alive, but with burns covering more than 75 percent of her body, has a simple wish for Christmas.

Two years ago, Safyre Terry’s father and three younger siblings were killed when an arsonist torched their Schenectady home. She lost her right hand and her left foot in the months following the blaze.

Safyre is now being raised by her aunt, Liz Dodler. She told BuzzFeed that all Safyre wants for the holiday is to fill a Christmas tree with cards. Dodler worried that the family doesn’t normally receive enough cards each year to fill the tree. So, she decided to request cards on Facebook. The 8-year-old is now finding out about the power of social media.
