ChI: Why Tumanyan's widower has not allowed Mikoyan to enter the writer's museum

“Chorrord Ishkhanutyun” writes: As Yerevan Municipality has lately reaffirmed its decision to place the statue of Mamikonyan in Yerevan, such details from his life have been revealed, that nobody was previously aware of. Particularly, a story with a title “No comment” was published on the Facebook page of “House-Museum of Hovhannes Tumanyan”, which is introduced below:

“1969, Yerevan, Moskovyan str. 40, the Museum of Tumanyan has many guests on the 100th anniversary of the writer. The widower of Tumanyan, Mrs, Olga, welcomes and warmly greets them. After greeting Hovhannes Baghramyan, Mrs. Olga sees Anastas Mikoyan, but instead of greeting him, she closes the door and says: “Godless Mikoyan, when I came to you in Moscow for my repressed sons, you would not let me in. So will I, I will not let you in to Hovhanes’s house””.

Tumanyan’s three sons (the fourth was dead during genoside) became victims of Stalin repression. Here are they: Musheg (1889-1938), Hamlik (1896-1937), Areg (1900-1938), Artavazd (1894-1918).
