Hungarian Minister for European Union Affairs Janos Boka exclaimed in a post on Facebook that "Hungary will not give in to blackmail," referring to a plan reported by the Financial Times, that revealed the European Union's intent to hinder the country's economy if it doesn't change its stance toward Ukraine.
The minister went on to say that "...this information confirms what the Hungarian government has been saying for a long time: Brussels is using access to EU funds to exert political pressure." Boka also stated that Hungary will continue to participate "constructively" in the negotiations, but insisted that it will not "succumb to blackmail."
