Trudeau and Merkel discussed the situation on Ukraine's border

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel.
The two leaders shared their deep concern about Russia’s recent military activities in Crimea and along the border with Ukraine. They underlined their commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. The two leaders also discussed common priorities and shared values with respect to relations with China. Prime Minister Trudeau expressed appreciation for Germany’s solidarity regarding the consular cases of Canadians Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor.
Prime Minister Trudeau and Chancellor Merkel agreed on the need for ambitious action on climate change. They looked forward to working together and with others to build momentum for bold action.
