Queen returns to royal duties just four days after death of Prince Philip

Queen Elizabeth II has returned to her royal duties just four days after the death of her husband, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, Buckingham Palace said in a statement.Her Majesty entered a period of mourning, along with senior Royals, following the death of the Duke on April 9 2021.
She returned back to duties just four days later, hosting a retirement ceremony for former Lord Chamberlain Earl Peel on April 13.
The engagement was recorded in the Court Circular - a daily list of the events attended by the Queen and her family.Lord Earl Peel was due to step down at the end of 2020 but delayed his retirement because of the coronavirus pandemic, Buckingham Palace said in January.
He agreed to stay on for longer while the search of this successor took place, and announced his retirement early 2021.
Lord Peel was the head of the Queen’s working household, ensuring the smooth running of all the different departments.
