Washington also called on its regional and international partners to continue to contribute to the stabilization process in the region.

President Donald Trump has ordered $50 million to support ethnic and religious minorities, protect human rights and clear mines in Syria. This was reported in a press release published on the official website of the White House.

“This funding will provide emergency financial assistance to Syrian human rights defenders, civil society organizations and facilitate reconciliation efforts through direct support to ethnic and religious minorities who have been victims of the conflict,” the press release said. It is noted that the amount will also be spent on clearing unexploded ordnance and documenting violations of human rights and international humanitarian law.

The United States encouraged its regional and international partners to continue to contribute to the stabilization process in the region.
