Kurdistan: 92% voted in favor of independence
     Today (Wednesday), the Kurdish High Election Committee announced that 92 percent of the Kurdish minority in Iraq voted in favor of independence in the recent referendum. The controversial referendum has angered the Iraqi government, which stated that it will not acknowledge its results.The vote was held on Monday, and voter turnout was 72.16 percent according to Rudaw news outlet. Earlier, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi called for the cancelation of the referendum results and urged the Kurdish government to hold a dialogue as required by the constitution.
