IT'S MISSION LIMBPOSSIBLETom Cruise ‘will need months to recover’ from broken bones after smash into a wall during failed action stunt

TOM CRUISE’s insistence on risking life and limb to perform his own stunts has backfired big time for his bosses on Mission: Impossible 6.

I can reveal a failed roof jump has left the action movie’s main man with two broken bones in his ankle. His likely spell recovering from Sunday’s accident has now resulted in production being halted for four months.

A film insider said: “The injury is worse than was at first feared. Tom did serious damage and will need months to recover.

“He is the film’s biggest star and everything revolves around him. The movie’s bosses had no choice other than to postpone the filming.”

Tom is pictured tackling the stunt at Blackfriars, central London, crashing into a building then doubling up as he is helped by medics who treated him at the scene.

After X-rays revealed the extent of the damage, he is now expected to head home to the US for treatment.

His injury has not only played havoc with the movie’s tight schedule, it will also hit the Mission: Impossible franchise’s finances, owing to major rescheduling of filming and when it will be out.The planned summer 2018 release date is likely to be pushed back, with Christmas next year now the obvious target.

Tom’s action sequences had been given a huge build-up by Mission: Impossible series producer David Ellison.

Speaking in March, he said: “What Tom is doing in this movie I believe will top anything that’s come before.
