Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy is in police custody, according to Reuters.
Police are talking to Sarkozy in relation to campaign financing, according to a court source.
Sarkozy, who was president of France from 2007 until 2012, was in police custody on Tuesday as part of an investigation into alleged irregularities over his 2007 election campaign financing, Reuters said.
According to Le Monde newspaper, the investigation related to alleged Libyan funding.
Sarkozy's lawyer could not be reached for comment.
