Scientists told about the unexpected dangers of watching TV

A large amount of time in front of TV increases the risk of venous thrombosis. To such conclusion scientists from the University of Minnesota in the United States, about their work according to Science Daily.
Doctors for 24 years monitored the health of 15 million Americans age 45-64 years, regularly conducting a survey about their condition and lifestyle. During this time was recorded 691 case of venous thrombosis.
It was found that those who regularly spent a significant amount of time in front of TV, suffering from disease, 1.7 times more often. Increased risk of thrombosis persisted in participants with the same weight and amount of physical activity.
«These results show that even those people who regularly engaged in physical exercises should not ignore the potential harm of prolonged sitting, such as watching TV,» says study co-author Yasuhiko Kubota.
