Thailand’s Prime Minister used a rather unusual method on Monday in a bid to avoid uncomfortable questions from journalists — he produced a life-sized cardboard cutout of himself and ask the press to direct questions to it instead.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha seemed ready to take questions from reporters when he emerged at a press conference outside the government house in Bangkok. However, he surprised the journalists waiting for him as he watched an aide set up the cardboard image of himself at the microphone.
"If you want to ask any questions on politics or conflict, ask this guy," the prime minister said.
