Daniel Yerajisht presented royal music, urging contemporary leaders to pay more attention to the art, which will bring peace and harmony

On November 28 “Royal concert” project was presented at National Gallery of Art within the framework of the 5th Khachaturian International Festival. Honorary worker of the RA Daniel Yerajisht was the author of this interesting initiative. He was the narrator and conductor of the concert. He presented the compositions by composer kings’. The program included compositions by Frederick the Great, Leopold I Emperor,Thibault IV King of Navarra, Margarita de Navarra, Henry VIII.
As the Armenians didn’t have statehood for centuries, and the church had taken the role of the leader compositions by spiritual leaders were presented next to the European kings: Komitas Catholicos (7th century), Nerses Shnorhali Catholicos (12th century).
Armenian chant by the head of Daroynk Ashot Patrick Bagratouni (7th century) was also performed. He had ruled Armenia for five years, liberating our country from Arab tyrants, built the Holy Saviour’s church in his native Daroynk and wrote a chant. This is the first chant created by a secular person, which was accepted by the church.
Pieces from the Cycle “Musical gift” by Johann Sebastian Bach on the theme of Frederick the Great were also presented. The compositions were arranged by Daniel Yerajisht. During the concert two collectives, the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia and the singers and pianist of the Sharakan Ensemble performed for the audience.
Daniel Yerajisht had chosen the quote by the Catholicos of All Armenians Vazgen I as an epigraph. “The art is great power, the music is great power. If mankind's leaders had deeply loved it, our destiny would have been different”.
Daniel Yerajisht is convinced that the world is aggressive, violent. And if the art is paid more attention to, the world will be filled with peace and harmony.
During the evening Daniel Yerajisht thanked the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia for the opportunity to be part of the Khachaturian Festival, the feast which brings the best artists to Armenia and makes them admire our country.
