he Director of the Central intelligence Agency (CIA) Michael Pompeo believes that American interests in Syria differ from Russian, but hopes to find an opportunity to cooperate with Moscow.

He stated this on Thursday at a conference in aspen (Colorado), devoted to security issues.

“We, of course, trying to find areas where we can work together with the Russians. But our interests there [in Syria] are not the same,” said Pompeo, whose performance was broadcast on the forum website. “From the point of view of intelligence, we are looking for are areas in Syria where we can act for the benefit of American interests, and not for the benefit of their [Russian] interests”, — assured the head of the CIA.
