US Senate Wants to Tighten Sanctions Against Russia

In the US Senate Republicans and Democrats almost agreed on a possible initiative by Donald Trump to ease sanctions against Russia. The senators intend to block the President's attempts and to tighten the sanctions. This was announced by Senator from South Carolina Lindsi Grem, Newsru.com reports.

"Any member of Congress who does not want to punish Russia for what it does is betraying democracy. And if the President does not sign the law to punish Russia, it will be a betrayal of democracy," Grem said.

In an interview with CBS, the Republican senator said that a law that would punish Russia for alleged interference in the US elections should be adopted next week.
