The prosecution is asking for an Islamic preacher 3623 life imprisonment. Turkish prosecutors demanded to sentence Islamic preacher Fethullah Gulen, who is accused of preparing a military coup, 623 3 life sentences and 2 another to 923 years in prison. According to the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, the prosecution also demanded to appoint gülen penalty equivalent to 2.2 million days in jail. In total, gülen appears as the main suspect in 22 criminal cases initiated in Turkey after the attempted coup in July 2016. Fethullah Gulen in Turkey is considered the second most influential person after President Recep Tayyip erdoğan and his main opponent. In the past he was an ally of Erdogan’s, now leads a secluded life in voluntary exile in the United States. After a failed coup attempt in July 2016 Erdogan called Gulen chief conspirator . Gulen himself living in the United States, categorically denies his involvement in the conspiracy. Nevertheless, the Turkish authorities demand his extradition to his homeland and called him a leader of a terrorist organization. We will remind, right after the coup, the Turkish authorities launched a massive cleaning. Repression has not stopped so far – last month, Turkish police detained more than a thousand people on suspicion of links with Gulen.
